The site is contiguous with taman botani perdana separated only by jalan parlimen and will be an expansion of that green space. Taman tugu dibuka dari 7 pagi hingga 6 30 petang setiap hari. The park opened in september 2018 with the aim of conserving a 66 acre green lung in the middle of kuala lumpur and turning it into an urban forest park open to the public.
